Job Description

Our busy and expanding client is looking for a Health and Safety/Training manager to join their team near Thetford.The candidate will be responsible for planning, directing and co-ordinating company activities to ensure compliance with all H&S standards. They will be based in the head office in Brandon with occasional travel and overnight stays in Retford and day visitsto various construction sites. A company car is provided!Hours: 8:00 - 17:00 / Monday to FridayResponsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the H&S procedures ensuring the company always remains compliant
  • Timely inspection of plant and equipment as required to ensure safe equipment and systems of work in place
  • Perform routine internal audits to ensure that business is operating with regulations
  • Manage business H&S activity
  • Collaborate with management team to make sure that the entire company is aware of H&S requirements and issues
  • Support factory staff and management in assessing & resolving any H&S issues and ensuring that appropriate action has been taken and recorded correctly
  • Manage the H&S inspections on construction sites
  • Regular full site surveys
  • Sourcing and purchasing correct PPE
The successful candidate will:
  • Have 3+ years experience in H&S management
  • Be a driver
  • Have proven experience in a similar role, ideally within manufacturing or construction environment
  • BRC/GMP trained and/or HACCP experience
  • NEBOSH/Health and safety training
  • Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Be confident and assertive but not aggressive
  • Be an effective decision maker
  • Be flexible and adaptable
  • Be professional in all aspects of the job
  • Have good IT skills and proficient in the use of office applications and company systems
