We are currently recruiting for a Transport Manager to join one of Bradfords leading Food Produce Distributers. This will be achieved by developing a continuous improvement culture via engagement and people focus across all aspects of the operation.Job title Transport ManagerReporting to Head of OperationsDirect reports 16 driversProfileThe Transport Manager is an integral member of the operational leadership team, responsible for managing the delivery driver, fleet assets and other related material handling equipment and transport plan to ensure optimisation of site logistics and transportsolutions to meet the needs of the customer are embedded and practiced at all times. Managing the transport team to ensure that all duties are fulfilled to the required standard Ensure that the transport team deal with all orders and customer queries in a timely manner Manage national route planning for multi-drop vehicles (HGV) Dispatch management Monitor OTIF (on time and in full) performance, understanding reasons for any challenges and resolve problems as required Communicate effectively and appropriately with drivers, customers and internal teams Ensure the on-time delivery, in good condition, of the correct product to the customer Schedule customer deliveries via our own vehicles to achieve a quality delivery service by the most cost effective method Ensure working hours are compliant with the Road Transport Regulations and the GB Domestic Rules Aim for first time resolution of internal and external disputes and queries Achieve targets whilst maintaining a focus on accuracy and quality of work Report transport accidents, incidents and near misses and conduct appropriate investigation Set Quality standards, write instructions and carry out daily audit against them Ensure appropriate First Aid, Fire Marshalls, Safety Representative cover in the transport team Use appropriate geographical and transport network knowledge to maximise efficiency planning Be the Driver Trainer - sign off training completion and audit effectiveness Receive absence notifications Conflict management. Hold a CPC National / International Qualification Have ownership of the O License You will have an excellent working knowledge of EU driver hours and WTD Legislation, as well as excellent working knowledge of Tachograph legislation You will be able to demonstrate experience of successful resource management.
