Company description:GXO Logistics Supply Chain Inc.Job description:Our control room is at the heart of our operation, it keeps our warehouse moving and pumps all the complex signals around to achieve a healthy and efficient way of working. We are on the lookout for Systems & Control Room Technicians to keep our busy operation alive and keep all things technical pumping!Due to the success of our M&S warehouse we are expanding and there couldnt be a better time to join us on our growing venture. Youll be working both days and nights on a two-week rotational basis (Week 1- Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday/ Week2- Wednesday and Thursday). Hopefully those numbers havent sent your heart racing too much, we promise its less complex than it looks and gives you a great work life balance, thats pretty unique in a warehouse environment!Pay, benefits and more:Were looking to offer a salary of between £26,000 - £28,000per annum plus a 5%-night shift allowance (paid 10pm to 6am). In addition, we offer 23 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays, as well as the option to buy additional days. Youll have accessto a variety of high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, and many other perks.What youll do on a typical day:

  • Rotate between the 4 areas of the Control Room, learning each role in-depth to broaden your knowledge of our operation. You will work on SCADA, order management, incident management and our new E-comm operation
  • Scadamonitor the system via CCTV and our messaging system that advise us of any errors in the operation and deal with these head on
  • Order managementreleasing shipments and ensuring all orders are picked
  • Incident Managementlook at any problems that have not been resolved in first instance and require further in-depth investigation, working closely with our IT team
  • E-comm - responsible for ensuring all orders are picked, fulfilled and dispatched in a timely and efficient manner
What you need to succeed at GXO:
  • Warehousing experience is not essential but exposure to working with automation flow in similar environments such as production/manufacturing or if you are a graduate with a Technical or IT degree would be great!
  • You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to problem solve and think on your feet. Be a resilient, logical & technical minded person.
  • With a high degree of computer literacy, strong in MS Excel. Knowledge of a WMS system or Kisoftadvantageous but not essential, we can teach you all you need to know!
