Well established engineering manufacturer with a healthy order book is looking to appoint a Quality Engineer.The role of the Quality Engineer is to be an integral part of the QA team and manage quality, both in-house and with various suppliers od a wide range of products. The position has around 255 travel , mainly in the UK but occasionally abroad (subject to lifting of restrictions). Quality Engineer/Engineering/Quality/ Fabrication/Machining/Supplier Audits/Root Cause AnalysisRole and ResponsibilitiesUndertake supplier audits in regards to conformity, reliability, quality assurance and certification to ensure compliance to applicable relevant national and international standards and specifications.Provide support and guidance to suppliers in regards to supplier development activities to ensure product conformity, in terms of Quality, Cost & Delivery (QCD) in line with planned requirements. Compile and maintain supplier performance KPIs, ensuring that they continue to meet and exceed company expectations.Perform product validation activities including; First Article Inspections (FAI), Warranties Investigations, Non-conformities, Change Control and Product Improvement.Provide support where necessary to suppliers, helping to develop excellent Quality Management Systems, reducing risks to the business.Undertake internal audits (QHSE) and timely reporting to ensure company processes are compliant with management system requirements and their continual improvement utilising a risk-based approach.Work with suppliers and internal functions to ensure timely resolution of supplier technical issues.Compile and maintain Quality Plans, including; Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Control Plans.Skills and Knowledge:Qualified lead Auditor (re- certification training available for expired ticket holders)Proven experience in Quality Management systemsExtensive knowledge of manufacturing engineering quality controls and QA activities.Good working knowledge of fabrication, welding and machining operations (electrical component knowledge and advantage)Qualified to a minimum NVQ3 in a relevant engineering disciplineGood working knowledge of quality assurance tools and techniques e.g. ITPs, Control Plans, 8D, Lean, 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, 8-D, DFMEA, PFEMA, PPAP, etc. preferredQuality Engineer/Engineering/Quality/ Fabrication/Machining/Supplier Audits/Root Cause AnalysisThe role offers good career prospects and a comprehensive benefits package.APPLY NOW!
