Job Description

As our Retail Lending Development Engineer you’ll join a team focused on delivering changes to maintain and improve our mortgage propositions as well as supporting the strategic direction of the Group. You’ll design, build, test, implement and support our core systems and integrations used for the origination and servicing of our mortgages in an evolving environment.We are looking for experienced developers or SME’s in one or more mortgage domains with keen technical skill and strong desire to learn and use their expertise to develop system changes.What Youll Do

  • Develop, document, and test (in an automated way) software and configuration ensuring they adhere to development standards and meet requirements. You’ll be technically competent and experienced in applicable technologies and platforms.
  • Maintain systems by analysing programs to diagnose and resolve defects
  • Participate in peer reviews of documentation, code, unit and integration testing
  • Collaborate with architects, analysts and product owners to transform business requirements into technical change
  • Perform impact analysis on requirements and designs.
  • Report on the progress of work allocated using applicable Agile tools (Kanban, Scrum) to maintain and support live application systems running at YBS.
  • Continually update technical knowledge and skills using internal training as well taking time to self-develop utilising external sources
    • How You’ll Do It
  • Have excellent knowledge of one or more of the core technologies which form the Groups Lending landscape
  • a number of the following software skill sets: Cobol, C#, .NET, PL/SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, SOA
  • Desirable skills include:
  • Data design experience
  • Experience of automation
  • Continuous Integration
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of DevOps software delivery methodologies and the application of them.
  • Demonstrable experience within a modern software engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage data and high level process
  • Ability to interpret complex information to develop business outcomes and present back in an easy and simple manner
  • Experience of working within IT support environments
  • Knowledge of IT delivery and maintenance
