Qualified Social Worker - Fostering and Adoption Team £55,293.84, + £5000 annual retentionLocation: Island of JerseyJoin our dedicated team at Jersey Island as a Social Worker in our Fostering and Adoption Team!About Us: Jersey is dedicated to ensuring the well-being and safety of children and families in our community. As part of our Quality and Practice service within Childrens Services, we are committed to providing high-quality social worksupport to children in need of care and protection.Job Purpose: As a Social Worker in our Fostering and Adoption Team, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive social work assessment and protection services to children, young people, and their families. You will be responsiblefor planning, organising, and implementing care and protection plans, working closely with children, families, and carers to deliver effective social services.Key Responsibilities:· Recruit, assess, and support prospective foster carers and adoptive parents, investigating their suitability to care for children.· Conduct home visits to assess the suitability of the home environment for children, discussing health, hygiene, and space requirements.· Interview prospective carers, gathering information about their background, family history, and caregiving experience.· Undertake statutory checks with authorities such as the police, probation, education, NSPCC, and the Department of Health.· Offer support to families through training programs, counselling, and post-adoption/fostering support as needed.· Record case work, write assessment reports, and liaise with other professionals involved in the care of children.· Participate in duty rota, responding to general enquiries and emergencies, such as finding placements for children in need of care.Requirements:· Qualified social worker with substantial experience in children and families social work.· Experience in fostering and adoption services highly preferred but not essential.· Registration with relevant bodies ( SWE/ HCPS)· Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency team.· Commitment to relocating to Jersey Island.In Return, We Offer:· Competitive salary up to £55,293.84 per annum.· £5000 retention payment upon successful completion of a 6-month probation period.· £3000 relocation payment payable in the first months salary.· Supportive working environment with opportunities for professional development.· Benefits including lower income tax rates, lower council tax rates, and higher rent allowances in Jersey.Dont miss this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and families in Jersey, Apply now to join our dedicated team!For more information on this or another social work opportunities in Jersey, please contact Jamie Gaunt at Ackerman Pierce recruitment agency on or
