Job Description

One of our partner Trusts are currently seeking a Site Supervisor to work in one of their schools in the BD4 area of Bradford. The role will be on a permanent full-time basis.The school are ambitious to provide the best quality of education for all learners within a safe and secure learning environment.The successful candidate will ensure the security of the estate at all times, assist in the day to day maintenance of the premises and comply with all health & safety regulations.Responsibilities include:

  • Inspect and maintain school equipment, carrying out minor repairs and reporting any defects.
  • Ensure suitable clearance is sought for contractors whilst working on site, and that they have produced the required permits.
  • Supervise cleaners and midday supervisors and provide training when required.
  • Undertake minor works and repairs (such as plumbing, glazing, carpentry, decorating etc.) as instructed by the Estates Manager or Business Manager.
  • Read meters and record as required, including assistance with energy conservation procedures.
  • Clean outside hard areas daily; including playground, paths and entrances, ensuring that the site is free from litter and obstruction.
  • Assist with the upkeep of the school’s fire log; assisting as required with fire alarm or emergency lighting checks, ensuring accurate records are kept.
  • Contact the appropriate services in the event of emergencies such as fire or flood and open and close the school premises, ensuring they are secure.
    • The ideal candidate will:
  • Be proactive and detail orientated.
  • Have a proven track record of success in a relevant field, preferably within a school setting.
  • Have experience of keeping exemplary work records
  • Show an understanding of the main Health and Safety Regulations, including COSHH and risk assessment and how they apply in a school environment.
  • Be able to act on their own initiative, dealing with any unexpected problems that arise.
  • Have the ability to cope with the physical demands of the job, e.g. lifting, carrying.
