Job Description

Job Responsibilities-The QA Technologist is responsible for a ensuring the toy offering meetings global standards and regulations. Experience as a QA professional and knowledge in toy quality and safety is critical to the role. The individual will work closely with all departments, specifically Buying, to provide technical guidance and support and ensure our products are high-quality to help achieve the company’s over goals and targets.Job Duties-

  • Developing technical specification packs, including risk assessments and compliance requirements.
  • Owning Toy Technical Files and all Testing documentation.
  • Ensuring that all items adhere to British Safety Standards, international compliance where necessary and all labelling and packaging requirements.
  • Dealing with suppliers to ensure critical path is maintained.
  • Introduce pre-shipping process with suppliers to gain P.O visibility prior to receipt.
  • Managing the pre-purchasing and posting P.O receipt sample process in conjunction with the buying team.
  • Conduct goods inward/post receipting inspections.
  • Resolving quality or production issues and effecting change to mitigate future issues.
  • Drawing up EC Declarations of Conformance.
  • Central QA point of contact for Customers, Suppliers and G&B.
  • Maintaining and inputting of all related information/data into the NAV WMS.
  • Managing filing systems/outlook-based diary tools.
  • Daily/Weekly reporting to Line Manger.
  • Any other duties that are required by management.
  • Key Qualifications/ Skills/ Competencies/ Experience/ Attributes-
  • Experience of working directly with product vendors.
  • Experience of working with customer QA departments (UK/Rest of the world).
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal and written English and good telephone manner.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Competent user of computer programmes, with a good knowledge of Excel.
  • Able to efficiently multi-task and be highly organised in fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Self starter and driven individual with strong organisational skills, able to work on own initiative.
  • Experience in the development of toy products category.
  • Understanding of adhering to European Regulatory Quality standards balanced with commercial needs.
  • In depth knowledge of EU Toy safety Directive.
  • Experience working within Regulatory Compliance Quality.
  • Strong character with the ability to challenge and influence at various levels within the business.
