With cutting-edge technology and a dedication to continuous improvement, they are seeking a talentedindividual to lead their operations team taking it to new heights.Our client is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Head of Operations to lead our operations team at our top-tier COMAH site. Reporting directly to the Site Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, andreliable operation of our facilities while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This is a key leadership role that offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the success and reputation of our site.Key responsibilities include:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the operations team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, logistics, and process safety management, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Develop and implement operational strategies and initiatives to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
• Support supply chain with OEM SLA’s, integrating and updating new and existing plant equipment.
• Drive compliance with regulatory requirements, including COMAH regulations, environmental permits, and health and safety standards.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve operational reliability.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), and quality, to support capital projects, process improvements, and organizational initiatives.
• Develop and mentor operations staff, promoting a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning.

Desired skills & experience:

• Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations leadership roles within the chemical, petrochemical, or related process industries, with specific experience in COMAH sites highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of process safety management principles, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory requirements, including COMAH regulations.
• Proven track record of success in driving operational excellence, optimizing plant performance, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate teams at all levels of the organization.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) is preferred.
