We are seeking a grounds maintenance officer to join the estates team of a local NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have hands on experience of hands on manual work. If you have routine gardening experience or routine maintenance experience this couldbe the role for you.The successful applicant will:Be capable of organising own workload with full consideration for patient and staff requirements within a sensitive and caring healthcare environmentBe competent in the use of hand tools to carry out routine gardening dutiesMaintain all grassed and planted areas in accordance with the Maintenance ScheduleMaintain all roadways and hard standings, sweep and remove all rubbish at required frequenciesAssist in snow clearing duties including replenishing of grit binsCarry out gritting of roadways and pathsEnsure that all equipment is fully maintained at all timesCarry out minor tree surgery excluding chainsaw workIf required drive the Trusts 4 wheel drive vehicle with trailer, due to inclement weather this may be, on occasion, in hazardous driving conditionsGeneral Duties:General porteringBe capable of moving heavy objects/loads in order to assist with moving furniture and equipmentClear bin store and skip areasCorrectly utilise step ladders and ladders when necessaryAssist other trades e.g. Builders, PlumbersRelaying of slabs, paving etc and repair of fencingThis role is initially for 6 months with the view of extension. Hours of work are 37.5 hours a week (Monday to Friday 8am-4pm).Taskmaster Resources is operating as a recruitment business for this role.
