Our client base ranges from local authority to the private sectorWe have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our team as we look to develop the businessWhat you need to know about Calder C.A.D:

  • We are a groundworks and surfacing contractor turning over £5-5.5million per year.
  • We are looking to increase turnover (gradually) and profitability through improving the QS side of CC.
  • We are responsible for a large range of works from small reactive works (1k jobs) to large-planned projects (1m + jobs)
  • We work throughout the north of England but mainly West & North Yorkshire
The RoleCalder C.A.D. is a business with a hands-on approach that gives autonomy to its staff.As Graduate Quantity Surveyor, your daily tasks will include:
  • Preparing tender bids (including material take offs and populating a BoQ,
  • Reviewing POs.
  • Attending site and programme meetings.
  • Weekly on-site measures, such as collating all information for any VOs.
  • Weekly costings and cost forecasting.
  • Negotiating material, plant and sub-contractor rates (annual and per site/job).
  • Placing orders.
  • Preparing applications and invoices.
  • Resolving disputes and agreeing final accounts.
  • Overseeing and chasing up late payments and bad debts.
The Ideal CandidateTo be eligible for this rewarding Graduate Quantity Surveyor role, you will ideally have a few years experience from a construction environment or have recently graduated with at least one years experience in the industry.Benefits
