Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious qualified electrician in a Commercial Role.Reporting to the Sales director, the role of Estimating Technician is an excellent opportunity to join a Bradford based, UK manufacturing company. Offering and supporting future career growth and promotional opportunity for the right candidate.The roleThe company are keen to expand their business and the Estimating Electrical Technician is a key part of their ambitious growth plan, expanding their market share in existing markets and moving into new markets such as EV charging.Key Responsibilities

  • The candidate will be required to read client specifications and produce quotations for pre wired electrical cabinets. These could be for a range of specifications such as street lighting, electrical distribution and EV charging.
  • The candidate will be required to analyse initial requirements, read drawings and wiring diagrams, price the project getting cost from component and switchgear suppliers, produce quotations for the electrical enclosures, and subsequently be involved inbuilding the electrical panels.
  • The role will involve the successful applicant designing, building and testing wired cabinets to the client provided specification.
The Successful Applicant
  • The successful applicant will be suitably electrically qualified and competent, technically strong, able to produce wiring drawings (software drawing package training can be given) and quotations with good commercial awareness and ability to liaise directlyand professionally at all levels. Evidence of qualifications and experience will be required.
  • Good interpersonal and telephone skills are essential as the successful applicant will be required to deliver accurate detailed costings, maintain customer records, liaise with the clients in a professional manner, have good commercial awareness and deliverclient projects to a high standard, on time and in budget.
  • Time will be split between the office and time in the workshop, with the right candidate having strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise work, proactive with a high degree of self-motivation and entrepreneurial acumen. The role whilst technical,is part of the sales function and applicants with additional estimating or customer facing experience are particularly encouraged.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification
  • C&G 2382 Requirements for Electrical Installations
  • C&G 2391-52 Level 3 Inspection and Testing
  • Excel
  • Level 4 Award Design and verification of Electrical Systems (Desirable)
Full Time Hours, Monday to Friday
