Kerry Logistics are currently recruiting for a Customs Entry Clerk working within a busy Imports department based in Bradford, Newhall Business Park.The candidate would be able to demonstrate attention to detail along with an analytical/logical approach and the ability to prioritise workload. Education to GCSE level standard or above. Computer literate & Excel competent.Title: Customs Entry ClerkHours:8.00am - 4.00pm: Monday to Friday with a 45-minute lunch break each day9.00am - 5.00pm: Monday to Friday with a 45-minute lunch break each day10.00am - 6.00pm: Monday to Friday with a 45-minute lunch break each dayPURPOSE OF THE ROLE:Reporting to the Customs Entry Supervisor, the Customs Entry Clerk holds responsibility to ensuring that day to day entries are declared in good time to HMRC before vessel arrival. The role involves ongoing compliance to HMRC regulations, internal and client specific SOPs designed to ensure that agreed service standards are maintained on a consistent basis.MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:Financial·Ensuring Duty/Vat invoices are raised (where required) in a timely manner once the entry has been completed and transmitted.Commercial/Customer Service·Query Resolution - to resolve any queries from both customers and suppliers in a timely and efficient manner, ie. Post Clearance Declarations and/or Duty reclaims.·Query Resolution - to resolve any from internal departments (including Transport, AP, AR, HR) in a timely and efficient manner.Operational·Reviewing customers specific SOPs and commodity codes on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance.·Check and confirm shipping documents are in order to enable customs clearance and release.·Use FCP/Destin8 and CNS to claim manifest UCNs.·Complete and transmit customs declaration via Sequoia in a timely manner, prior to vessel arrival where possible.General•Adhering to all policies outlined in the Employee Handbook•Adhering to all HR and Health and Safety policies•Performance Development Reviews - to participate in the PDR process and to identify specific training needs.RequirementsPrevious experience in HMC&E on the entry sideOr someone who has at least 5 years’ experience of completing sea import entriesExperience in audit entry checks, reclaims and any other duty/vat queries.
