Job Description

Customs Agent Newhall, Bradford£25,000 - £30,000 MondayFriday, 09:0017:00 Im currently recruiting for a customs agent to join an ever growing freight forwarding company. They are seeking a customs agent to support the current ocean and air import operations with their increasing workload.Whats on Offer;

The Candidate;
  • Experience of making customs declarations since Brexit (essential)
  • Customs qualifications are highly desirable
  • Previous experience of handling ocean / air imports (1 year desirable)
  • Experience using Destin8, CNS or Sequoia (desirable)
  • Previously worked for a freight forwarder
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workloads
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment
  • Genuinely passionate in finding solutions for clients
  • Experience of working within a fast paced shipping or logistics office
Duties and Responsibilities;
  • Ensuring that all clearance processes are completed in a complaint and timely manner.
  • Providing information to your team and customers directly relating to HMRC customs and excise for the export of shipments via road, air &/or sea
  • Advising on the documentation necessary for direct import/export, transit movements
  • To ensure the company is fully compliant with the requirements of HMRC and other relevant bodies. And ensure good query resolution
  • Monitoring customer volumes and highlighting unusual trends to management
  • Ensuring that all necessary custom clearance processes post Brexit are implemented in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Utilising your knowledge of customs tariffs, CPC codes and security declarations
