Role: CNC Machinist (Turning team)Summary of role: Set and operate variety of CNC lathes horizontal and verticalDaily duties and responsibilities Set and operate CNC lathes (Fanuc). Minor program amendments may be required.Precision machining of bores, faces, diameters of steel components.General housekeeping of work area and routine machine maintenance/safety checks.Familiar with the use of micrometers, air gauges, etc to measure dimensions and formMonitor machine operations, interpret inspection data and make adjustments where necessary to achieve tight tolerancesLogging production, SPC and data capture where necessary.Participate in continuous improvement activitiesUse of manual lathes, hydraulic presses and other ancillary equipmentMaintain standards of health, safety and hygiene in the workplaceRequirements Ability to work methodically, confidently but with care following a written works instructionFamiliar with the operation of CNC lathes, including program adjustmentsFamiliar with turning defects and their avoidance. Ability to use inspection equipment and interpret inspection dataGood standard in Maths and EnglishGood ability to understand engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing, working to close tolerancesHave an ability to work to a high standard of qualityAttention to detailPhysically dextrousWearing of appropriate PPE and observing health and safety rulesSalary/rate £13.61 -£14.39 per hour Job type Permanent: day shift 39 hoursHours: Monday 07:30 to 16:30Tuesday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:00Friday 07:30 to 14:30Other Free onsite parkingAccessible by bus and trainOvertime paid at x 1.5 after 39 hours25 days holiday plus statutory
