To meet our expanding and developing Ambulance Vehicle Preparation (AVP) requirements we are now able to offer further vacancy opportunities to join our existing dedicated AVP Operative teams within Yorkshire Ambulance Service.These exciting opportunities for AVP Operatives, part of the National Health Service (NHS)through the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust, are now available at Bradford Ambulance Station and other limited locations across West Yorkshire.A DRIVING LICENSE WITH C1 CLASS IS ESSENTIAL- You will be required to confirm within your application that you hold a full C1 Category on your license which is valid within the UK.This post is an average 37.5 hour per week contract based on a 24 hour, 7 day a week rota system including Bank Holidays preparing our frontline operational vehicles. The working days and times are dependent upon current provision required to meet operational/patient demand. A significant percentage of our Ambulance Vehicle Preparation is completed overnight and working durations include 8, 10 & 12 hour shifts. These contracted working times also attract unsocial hour’s payments.There may be limited Part-Time posts available, but the working times will be to meet AVP Peak Hours requirements including days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.Holiday entitlement is between 27 days and 33 days depending on length of NHS service plus bank holidays.Please ensure you read and understand the attached job description before completing your application. Completion of the Supporting Information section within your application is essential and please include any relevant experience, knowledge and/or role related qualities to support your application.Duties to include:Ambulance Vehicle Preparation Operatives process ambulance service vehicles in a prescribed and controlled way that ensures each ambulance is fully equipped and prepared to attend and treat a patient. The role is a key operational support function, which ensures patient safety whilst supporting Operations in meeting its targets. Main duties include detailed cleaning and Infection Prevention and Control activities, checking and inspecting medical and lifting & handling equipment, restocking all consumables and completing vehicle checks. Other duties include the preparation of consumables, stock control, re-fuelling and moving vehicles across various locations, recording all daily activities and the repatriation of equipment from Hospital Trusts.The successful candidates must be flexible in their approach and convey a personal commitment to demonstrating the YAS values and behaviours.You must be reliable and conscientious with a good eye for detail and be able to work individually and as part of a small team.No experience is required as full training will be given. An initial 4 week Training package forms part of your Learning and Development.Our training package includes NVQ2 and NCFE.This advert closes on Sunday 31 May 2020
