Job Description

AutoCad/MiCAD OfficerNHS PlacementOngoing Temp role£10.29 - £11.94 plus hol payJOB PURPOSETo manage and maintain and operate accurate and up-to-date asset based information systems covering all of the Trust’s properties including filed ACAD/Revit drawings, and project maintenance manuals. This involves maintaining a comprehensive electronic filing system of all Health and Safety files and Operation and maintenance manuals from all projects. Working closely with the other Estates Professionals (including Trust Fire Safety Adviser, Trust Asbestos Manager & other external professional advisers) the post holder will ensure accurate records are maintained and updated.Take the lead role for the Trust on future planning in respect of Building Information Modelling (BIM) techniques, and advise the Head of Capital Projects & other senior colleagues in this regard in terms of implementation and benefits.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experienced AutoCAD user with proved ability to read & understand construction & engineering drawings, symbols & convections
  • Experienced MiCAD user with extensive knowledge of software capabilities including Asbestos Portal
  • Proficient User of Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project
  • Familiar with & ability to operate other computer-based Information Systems, e.g. Revit
  • Knowledge of BIM products and benefits associated with BIM.
  • Knowledge of general administration proceduresPRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • Manage the Estates & Facilities property database including the receipt and filing of information received including as built/fitted drawings, H&S Plans and O&M Manuals, updating record drawings as required & ensuring the MiCAD portal is up-to-date.
  • Produce and maintain a comprehensive library of asset plans for all Trust properties including Community Sites occupied by the Trust. Record details of development projects and mechanical/electrical installations on site.
  • Be the Estates & Facilities lead in respect of Building Information Modelling (BIM) techniques; assist in the use of and promotion of the benefits of BIM to colleagues.
  • Advise and act as lead person on the use of CAD, Revit and BIM for the Trust; developing protocols and procedures to aid the production of accurate and professional drawings. E.g. complex layering conventions, templates and development of standard details
  • Maintain and update the Estates Space Utilisation software package to ensure accurate information is available regarding room occupancy and other estates related issues
  • Carry out regular space utilisation surveys of all wards & departments throughout the Trust and update both record and scheme drawings as required on the electronic record systems, ensuring accurate details of ownership/demise per department / directorate in all Trust properties.
  • Monitor non-clinical space size and complete reports for senior colleagues in respect of meeting requirements of space & function detailed in the Lord Carter Report.
  • Monitor the progress of on-going schemes and ensure that adequate information is received from Trust Project Officers and/ or external contractors to allow the updating of information systems, such as the MiCAD database.
  • Production of CAD scheme drawings based on information received from Project Officers.
  • Carry out all tasks in relation to fire compliance in line with the Estates Computer Systems and Filing Policy & the Trust Capital Projects ‘Red Book’ Procedures
