Job Description

Toyota are looking for a Used Car Area Manager to join our business based out of our Bracknell dealership. As a Used Car Area Manager, you must have a very strong Used Vehicles operations background, coupled with a proven history of improving and delivering excellent performance. You will also need to possess detailed industry knowledge to deliver best in class coaching, advice, support, and behavioural change to the 3 dealerships in the Thames valley Used departments.Naturally confident, with a wealth of managerial experience you will have strong leadership skills and have the ability to implement change to take the Thames Valley used car departments taking them to new heights. You will be ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the Used Vehicle Sales Departments, be a natural people person who can build great relationships with customers, manufacturer partners and colleagues.This a great opportunity for a time served General Sales Manager to take their first steps into a multi-site role, or for an experienced Used Car Area Manager to take the next step up in their career within the ever-growing Hybrid market.What we Need

  • Develop and drive improvements in used car sales, standards, and profitability within the Thames Valley CDA
  • Be in charge of 2 Toyota and 1 Lexus dealerships Used Car departments
  • Identify opportunities to improve overall performance including F&I of the CDA and deliver this through a formulated and structured plan
  • Improve the professionalism and performance of Toyota and Lexus used car departments by working closely with the Management team, Customer consultants onsite and Brand/ Financial Services field teams
  • Achievement of budgeted objectives and targets including Volume and profitability
  • Work with Buyers to ensure used car stock mix and levels are well maintained
  • Manage the customer service aspect of the centre and step in to resolve any customer issues that arise
  • Regularly evaluate and update managers of key KPI’s ie: Lost Opportunity Costs, ROI
  • Full control of used car stock, monitoring write-down and pricing
  • Identify a strategy for vehicle pricing and meeting the demand and market instantly
  • Ensure on daily basis all used vehicles are advertised within Jemca standards and time frame and ensure they meet the quality standards set
  • Ensure departmental staff is of a high calibre and fully operational with participation with recruitment, training programmes and disciplinary
  • Implement and develop new marketing strategies up and above current digital platforms to drive opportunities to do business
  • Proactive approach to disposal of vehicles as per directive of the organisation
  • Reconcile monthly Doc profit reports with current operating system
  • Conduct or participate in monthly / quarterly reviews with all sales staff regarding performance and provide support and constructive feedback and consider performance management
  • Ensure departmental costs are in line with budgeted guidelines and where possible identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Full accountability of P&L of the Used Car Departments in the CDA
  • Improve the CDA capability by implementing KPI’s to manage dispersion: Used vehicle ROI, Used Vehicle Bay Turn, Used vehicle sourcing channels i.e. Motability GYOB, trade in and OEM channels
  • Accurate Forecasting on all used Volumes, F&I and Profitability
  • Full accountability of all Demo / Loan vehicles for fleet and de-fleet accuracy across all systems

  • The ability to demonstrate a proven track record of significant sales successes and improvements in Used Car Sales
  • Excellent relationship and rapport building skills
  • Demonstrate strong negotiating sales, closing skills and communication skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels including Senior Management
  • A Proactive and experience approach to digital marketing platforms and creative marketing.
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry and Used Vehicle operations and its key KPI’s
  • Understanding of Used Vehicle marketing channels, from digital to physical display
  • A strong personality with a driven approach in a fast-moving environment
