Job Description

Project Manager - High-Tech M&E EngineeringProject Management of Specialist Data Centre Installations for Clients Across the GlobeBerkshireTo £60,000 + BensOur client is an established engineering consultancy working at the cutting edge of design in the data centre field. They help clients across the world build specialist, data centre facilities from initial concept and business case development, through design, project management and ongoing monitoring and support. With projects varying in size and complexity and with clients in almost every vertical, our client’s expertise in their field is unrivalled. As part of their ongoing expansion they now wish to hire an Engineering Project Manager.The Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Owning the engineering and project relationship with the client
  • Driving the design process for complex, leading edge M&E projects worldwide but not doing the design work
  • Review project information and brief design team
  • Develop and agree the project management and design management plan both internally and with third party suppliers
  • Monitor and control all activities to ensure delivery against the plan
  • Develop and own the Common Data Environment and all associated security and communication elements
  • Managing external specialist consultants
  • The successful candidate will:
  • Be a qualified mechanical or electrical engineer, ideally Chartered, with at least two years post-graduate experience in HVAC or equivalent experience and academic qualifications
  • Have experience of project management within a data centre environment
  • Have a proven track record of working on a variety of HVAC or M&E projects concurrently
  • Proven matrix supervisory skills and ability to manage external suppliers against contracts
  • Be a strong communicator and organiser
  • Be comfortable dealing face-to-face with clients
