Job Description

Due to continued growth, a biotech company is seeking an R&D Technician to join its qPCR team. You will support with experimental work, ultimately leading to the release of new products to the market. To be considered you will ideally have a degree in a life science and must have previous experience in qPCR.Job description:The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of research and development targets by completing experimental work on multiple live projects. Success in these projects will ultimately lead to release of new diagnostic tests to market, as well as improvement of existing products and processes.Job duties will include:

  • Performing and interpreting multiplex qPCR assays, as assigned.
  • Accurately recording all experimental processes and resulting data.
  • Performing a range of molecular biology techniques, including various methods for extraction of nucleic acid from field samples, electrophoretic analyses, and others.
  • Carrying out equipment calibration.
  • Communication of experimental findings to other members of the R&D team.
  • Maintaining stocks of critical R&D components.
  • Assembling qPCR reagents in order to produce and test prototype kits.
  • To assist with serology R&D projects, production and QC processes, as required by the business.
    • Qualifications required:Minimum BSc in relevant scientific discipline.Experience required:
  • Minimum of 1-year experience covering a variety of molecular biology techniques.
  • Experience in analytical techniques is desirable.
  • Experience in industry would be advantageous.

  • Flexibility/Adaptability.
  • The ability to design, perform and summarise experiments.
  • The ability to work effectively; both individually and in a team.
