Mental Health Support LSA - Aspiring Clinical PsychologistMainstrean Secondary School in Bracknell with Learning Resource Base - Autism, ADHD, and ASD

Psychology graduates wanted - similar subjects will be considered!This Learning Resource Base for children and young people with a primary diagnosis of autism, based in Bracknell Secondary School, are looking for a psychology graduate (similar subjects desirable) to join their team as a Mental Health Support Assistant.The base has been open since 2015, and currently caters to 17 pupils between 11 and 16 years old, all with moderate to severe Autism and paired Complex Needs.This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring psychologist or therapist in Bracknell to gain valuable experience shadowing seasoned professionals from a wide array of sectors across psychology, such as speech + language therapists, occupational therapists,and clinical psychologists. You will receive industry leading training across the range of strategies and therapies needed to support autistic students. You will get to engage directly in providing positive therapies in 1:1 and small group sessions, with opportunitiesto grow your responsibilities into lesson leading sessions as your confidence grows.The Role:
  • Mental Health Support Assistant.
  • Bracknell
  • Special Needs Resource Base
  • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Specialist.
  • Maximum of 8 pupils per class
  • 96 pupils at capacity in 2021/22
  • National curriculum - modified to suit the individual needs of each child/young person
  • Individual plans for each pupil setting targets and monitoring achievements in Behaviour, Academic work, Social and Life Skills and Enrichment activities
  • Baseline adult to pupil ratio of 1:2
  • Access to OT, SaLT and Positive Behaviourists (Qualified ABA/VB analysts) with autism specific qualifications from opening, with all professionals being full-time by 2022
