Job Description

My client is looking for an experienced inventory controller to join their team. They are situated within modern offices in Bracknell that offer onsite parking and are easily accessible by public transport. You will be working closely alongside the salesteam, therefore this is a fully office based role.Responsibilities within the role:- Maintain the correct inventory levels and stock turns- Place and process purchase orders as required- Manage order confirmation from suppliers - Chase outstanding purchase orders in line with delivery requirements - Prioritise and action relevant tasks in a timely manner - Prepare forecasts and purchasing budgets - Run buy reports weekly/biweekly/monthly- Forward planning of buying for seasons and events- Sourcing of new lines and new suppliers- Daily review of recommended orders to ensure they do not result in under or over stock- Consolidation of supplier base on commercials- Identify sales trends and ensure stock levels are adjusted accordingly - Review direct and special POs for product trends- Work with suppliers to rotate non-moving stock - Negotiate costs and record savings - Ensure purchases are made with the best commercial benefit, from preferred suppliers - Ensure the most competitive terms possible- Check/negotiate rebates that are most effective to the business - Find best price to enable the least amount of carriage charges from suppliers- Update weekly order books with diligence in a timely manner- Review stock turns and react accordingly - Ensure control of aged stock (1 year above) by running slow moving stock reports (3 month demand) and returning stock. Identifying stock that needs to be turned over and communicate this with the sales team in order to push sale of stock- Build relationships across relevant suppliers (by tier of importance) - Develop robust improvement plans to improve supply of products, accuracy of lead times and update exchange- Identify specific promotions with suppliers to increase sales and margins- Obtain marketing and promotional material from suppliers with regards to new products, liaise with the sales team to discuss potential opportunities (6-month demand on product)- Onboard new suppliers, ensure supplier agreements are in place with the best terms availableExperience required:- Previous experience with Inventory/stock control - Experience of negotiating prices - Ability to work independently as well as within a team - Ideally experience dealing with multiple suppliersPlease note:As you can appreciate we are currently overwhelmed with applications of individuals looking for both short term and permanent work and we can therefore only contact those applications that have relevant skills for positions that we currently have available.Should you not hear from us within a week, please assume you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.In line with GDPR regulations, we are making you aware that to proceed with your application we will need to contact you via email, telephone and/or text message.
