Job Description

This Professional, Membership and Educational body are looking to recruit a Financial Accounting Manager who will focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements, ensuring compliance and implementation of efficient and diligent financial practices.In this key role, it is essential that you build strong relationships with key stakeholders, working closely with our internal teams and Internal and External auditors and deliver financial confidence and insight that will allow the Leadership Team to makethe best financial decisions for the Institute.Reporting to the Head of Finance your daily duties will include:
  • Manage the production of year-end statutory accounts and internal and external audits, in accordance with Charities Act, SORP and Companies Act requirements
  • Mange the balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring month end deadlines are met and unreconciled differences are resolved ensuring timely resolution and accurate accounting
  • Ensure the Institute and its trading subsidiaries complies with all statutory tax regulations, specifically VAT, Corporation Tax and other regulatory requirements
  • Manage the payables function to provide a high-quality service and ensure that the teams processes
  • Lead on standardising, documenting and continuously improving the procure to pay process
  • Managing the organisation and its subsidiaries UK payroll to ensure that an effective, accurate professional service is provided to all employees
  • Ensuring the Institute is fully compliant with UK tax and payroll law
  • Manage, motivate and coach the financial accounting team, ensure the key performance indicators are met enabling evaluation of teams performance
The successful candidate will be a part-qualified accountant studying towards their ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualification. You must have experience in the preparation of statutory accounts, preparing and delivering to the annual audit, working closely with the externalauditors. You must possess demonstrable experience of leading and motivating a team to deliver the required results within the required timetable.You must have strong influencing skills whilst possessing first class written and verbal communication skills, with experience of working closely with key internal stakeholders.For this role, it would be desirable if you have previously worked with in a not for profit, multi-currency environment.
