Job Description

A multinational organisation is looking for a Credit Risk Analyst on a contract basis for an initial 6 month period. Working as part of a team of three, the Wholesale Credit Risk Analyst reports to the Credit Manager. The Analyst role is focused on the financial analysis of a vast network to ensure that the balance between financial support and risk of losses is minimised and controlled.Main Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of high risk or high profile accounts by way of carrying out annual risk assessment of creditworthiness based on financial analysis of statutory accounts, MI and manufacturer composites. Recommend appropriate actions to improve the risk grading. Highlight any potential risk issues to senior management
  • Discuss annual credit limit requirements and respond to requests for ad-hoc and seasonal credit limit amendments, assess and recommend appropriate courses of action using the dealers current targets, profitability and trading activities
  • Ensure lending reviews are submitted within the agreed timescales, and proactively ensure audited accounts are received and analysed on time.
  • Liaise with solicitors to ensure legal contracts and security are completed in a timely and efficient manner, follow up as necessary using the work in progress log
  • Actively attend dealer visits with the Credit Section Manager to build dealer relationships and ascertain dealer risks. From time to time attend risk meetings with the Credit Manager and deputise for him/her in time of absence
  • Respond appropriately & quickly to problems such as unpaid debits or poor stock audits, decide what action needs to be taken to avoid or minimise any possible loss
  • Maintain and control processes for high-risk dealerships placed on AFRL or administration control.
  • Actively assist the Credit Manager with the underwriting and setting up of new dealers, liaising with colleagues and attending Franchising meetings.
  • Be commercially aware of all things effecting wholesale dept and be involved in various projects. Broaden knowledge to understand wider business issues
  • Ad hoc projects and duties to be undertaken when required
  • Continually looking at opportunities to increase income for the department
    • Qualifications, skills and experience required:
  • An experienced analyst with at least 5 years exposure in underwriting facilities in excess of £5m through a bank or other financial institution
  • Able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of lending principles and underwriting methodology
  • Ability to read and interpret financial accounts, bringing together a number of sources of information to make assessments of business performance, with strong numeracy skills.
  • Is able to exercise sound, balanced decision making under pressure and in the face of challenge, with good customer empathy taking a customer centric stance and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, being able to address sensitive and confidential issues with senior managers and owners of businesses.
