ABOUT THE ROLEAs a Hairdresser at Wood Grange, you’ll create a professional and sociable in-house hairdressing salon that helps us to deliver excellent person-centred care for our residents.Wood GrangeCare Home has been specifically designed to provide quality nursing and residential care to older people and those living with dementia. We provide a warm, homely and friendly environment for72 residents. Its dedicated Memory Lane community, which supports residents with dementia, will offer everything from a sensory garden through to activity kitchens. This is your opportunity to help make this first-class home a success from day one.Visiting our hairdressing salon provides an enjoyable, social experience that enhances our residents’ dignity and quality of life. Our ethos is all about celebrating life, so you’ll help to create an in-house hairdressing salon that will be one of the highlights of our residents’ day.An extremely rewarding role, part of your time as a Hairdresser will be spent getting to know our residents so you can maximise their wellbeing and social engagement. This role would suit a part-time or self-employed hairdresser who can manage the needs of our residents around their usual working patterns.ABOUT YOUYou’ll need to be friendly, approachable and enjoy conversation to join us as a Hairdresser at Barchester. Playing an essential role in maintaining our residents’ sense of independence, fulfilment and choice, you hold a relevant hairdressing qualification and have experience of working as a hairdresser. Ideally you’ll also have experience of providing hairdressing services for older people.You will advise residents about their hair, styling and scalp treatments and confidently work to a professional standard.
