Job Description

Behaviour Support WorkerSecondary EducationSalary/ Rate: £75-£90 per dayLocation: BourneSector / Industry: Secondary EducationA mainstream secondary school in Scunthorpe is looking for a strong Teaching Assistant to join their team for this term, on a full-time basis, with the potential for this to become a permanent role if you get on well.This school caters for pupils of secondary ages with a seperate unit for pupils excluded from mainstream education, so you will face challenging behaviour, with part of your role being to manage this in and out of the classroom.Your work will involve working in other departments, both supporting in class and working with small groups of pupils with booster groups and intervention sessions. You must have either previous experience working with young people or in a secondary schoolenvironment, or have a degree (or equivalent).Some pupils come from vulnerable backgrounds, you must show, if not previous experience in a similar setting, the ability to be able to manage challenging behaviour and situations.Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing behaviour in the class, supporting the class teacher
  • Working with small key groups outside of the class
  • Helping to manage behaviour between lessons and during break hours, on occasion
Required Skills & Experience:
  • ESSENTIALStrong behaviour management
  • ESSENTIALExperience within a school/working with young people
  • ESSENTIALA team player attitude with a positive and flexible approach to work
