Job Description

Fantastic opportunity to lead our H.Samuel Watch Merchandising team! Merchandiser – H.Samuel WatchesTemporary Maternity Cover ContractAre you an experienced Merchandiser with experience in branded environmentsIf so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!Here at Signet Jewelers we’re looking for an experienced, results-driven Merchandiser to lead our H.Samuel Watch Merchandising team at our Borehamwood office covering a maternity leave for up to 12 months.As H.Samuel Watch Merchandiser you’ll plan, control and monitor the purchase, intake and distribution of merchandise in order to maximise sales and gross profit for the department and achieve margin targets through risk and markdown strategy. You’ll manage an experienced team of 2 Assistant Buyers and 2 Allocators and work in conjunction with the H.Samuel Buyer to prepare sales and stock plans, range and buying plans which meet sales, stock turn, closing stock, discount and intake margin targets. This category will see you partner with our major H.Samuel watch brands including Accurist, Casio, Citizen, Seiko, Seconda, Rotary and many more.Responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Contributing to profit management through accurate forecasting and recommendations for action
  • Identifying opportunities to improve sales performance
  • Preparing range plans by grade and format, supporting range presentations and supporting space planning principles to achieve maximum return on space
  • Contributing to VM and layout decisions to ensure these are reflective of sales and profit
  • Ensuring promotional activity is phased in line with markdown strategy
  • Managing terminal stock levels and control range exit plans
  • Reviewing and updating sales and stock forecasts and OTB
  • Ensure WSSI and commitments are accurately maintained
  • Monitoring flow of stock in and out of the Distribution Centre
  • Ensuring allocations are actioned as per range plan
  • Monitoring and reviewing supplier performance, intake and gross profit margin, new orders, line profitability, ranging, minimum credible offer, results on test product
  • Monitoring and reviewing branch stock cover and sales performance, warehouse stock levels, stock sell through rates, new branch stock builds, service levels, core lines, BSLs and repeat orders
    • About YouSuitable applicants will be experienced as follows
  • Experience as a Merchandiser in a branded environment
  • Highly numerate with highly developed analytical thinking
  • Advanced Excel skills with working knowledge of planning systems and Business Objects
  • Passion for customers with high commitment to service excellence
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
