Job Description

The Recruitment co are recruiting for a fabricator / welder for our client based in Bootle. The client is a well known company within the bootle area.This position is Permanent with our client.Interviews are being held immediatelyRate of pay: £15.31 - £18.15 per hour - Depending on experienceWorking hours: 7:30am-5pm Successful candidates must be flexible to work extra hours andovertime is available.Job Role:

  • Welding and fabrication tasks to support operations and maintenance department
  • Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on a variety of plant and apparatus
  • TIG, MIG and gas welding
  • Checking work and inspecting work
  • Ability to work from technical drawingsKey Competencies:
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with welding equipment e.g torches, torch tips, filler rods, flux, hoses, valves and gas cylinders.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • The ability to work under pressure using your own initiative; managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Clear effective communicator
  • Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.Essential Skills:
  • Minimum NVQ 2 welding qualification
  • Proven track record of working in a comparable role
  • Solid understanding of MIG / Stick welding equipment and process
  • Solid understanding of Oxy Propane / Acetylene cutting and burning equipment and process
  • Use of plasma cutting equipment
  • Familiar with a variety of welder concepts, practices and procedures.
  • The ability to weld in all positions whilst maintaining high quality and standards
  • Able to read and interpret schematics and PIDS, welding process specifications and welding symbols and / or other printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts
  • IT literate with the ability to use a range of packages applicable to the role, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (emails)Desirable Skills:
  • Coded Welding would be advantageous
  • Experience working on heavy static plan
  • Experience with maintenance tasks
  • Welding up to 50mm thickness
  • NDE (dye pen) testing
