Job Description

The successful LGV Driver will be based at Bonnyrigg and be required to drive and operate vehicles and plant profitably and efficiently, reporting to and following instructions from the Logistics Unit Manager. You will also develop and maintain good relations with customers, contractors and staff through your positive and hard-working attitude.Client DetailsOur Bonnyrigg based client are one of the UKs leading recycling, renewable energy and waste management companies.   • Ensure legality regarding EEC Drivers hours, Road Traffic Act 1988 regulations, permits and other legislation as indicated by line management
  • Complying with relevant EMS work instructions as indicated by line management
  • Ensure Security of vehicles and any other property within job holders control
  • Ensure Safety of people, equipment, plant and vehicles within jobholders area of control
  • To always empty the customers container on time and report any issues that may affect the service, immediately to the traffic office
  • To drive your vehicle in a responsible manner that promotes the client in a positive way
  • Ensure use of Tachograph Disc or Digital Tachograph Card, as required by law, and ensure that hours and working arrangements are within EEC legal limits
  • Carry out Drivers maintenance correctly, at the correct intervals, and report all vehicle equipment/container faults immediately by approved system
    • ProfileThe successful LGV Driver will have:
  • Knowledge of Tachograph and digital Tachograph operation
  • Good routing skills
  • Experience of road haulage operations
  • Full driving licence
  • Category C or C + E licences
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Hold Driver CPC qualification
  • Previous experience of driving waste collection vehicles (RCV, FEL, Skip & RoRo) would be desirable but not essential
  • Geographic knowledge of Edinburgh & Surrounding Areas such as Bonnyrigg
