Family Support Worker - Womens Aid East and MidlothianSalary: £21,559 to £23,310Holidays: 6 weeks entitlement annual leave, rising to 8 weeks annual leave after one year of employment (pro rata)Pension: 5% employer contribution to a personal pension plan on completion of 3 months employment.Fixed term contract until September 2023: Part-time - 19 Hours per week. Weekday working although occasional evening and weekend work may be required. As a Support Worker, travel across East Lothian and Midlothian is required therefore a driving licenceand access to a car is essential.The Social Care Community Partnership are currently recruiting for a Family Support Worker on an exclusively retained basis for Womens Aid East and Midlothian (WAEML).WAEML provides information, support and accommodation to women (including trans-women), children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse. If you can commit to upholding the rights of women, children and young people, this may be the job for you.What WAEML are looking for:An experienced support worker as well be an enthusiastic feminist who shares WAEMLs core values. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a gender-based and trauma-informed approach to service delivery and will be expected to take a multi-agency approachto your work.Candidates will ideally have a minimum of 2 years work experience within the field of domestic abuse, and children and young people. Membership of the PVG scheme is an essential requirement and you should be qualified to a minimum of SVQ 3 in ChildrensCare, Learning and Development.WAEML positively welcomes applicants from within all sections of the community although are exempt under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 and therefore only women need apply.Key responsibilities:* Staff the duty service to provide emotional, practical support and information at point of contact i.e. in person or telephone to children and young people who have been subjected to domestic abuse.* To meet with Children and Young people as a key worker on a regular and planned basis, developing and reviewing individual support plans and risk assessments.* To prepare reports for children panels, court proceeding or case conferences where necessary and accompany children and young people to such meetings as the need arises.* Collaborate with colleagues in order to ensure the smooth running of the service and provision of integrated family support. This will involve going to meetings and assisting colleagues when required.* Perform administrative tasks in a timely way to ensure smooth running of the service.
