To implement and maintain ISO 3834 specifically tailored to meet the requirements of fusion welding of metallic materials and related services. Working as part of the quality department you will be responsible for inspection of parts, materials and weldsto defined specifications, Including all associated records.Client DetailsOur client, based in Bolton, is a world leader in the manufacturing of systems, modules and components for commercial vehicles. They are an established market leader in the Automotive world, and are looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to the ranks tohelp further boost their growth.DescriptionAs Welding Engineer, the key responsibilities are as follows:Implementation and maintenance of ISO 3834 - Level 2.2Compliance establishing a good working relationship with all managers, production and Quality personnel to ensure compliance with the standardSpecify welding quality requirements in contracts.By manufacture(s) to establish and maintain weld qualityBy third parties to establish welding quality performance.Assist with operator training as required. Including recommendations for any additional training requirements.Assist with the creation of all relevant documentation to maintain the system, including SOPsCommunication with the customer, including report writing as required.Customer visits when required. This could include overseas travel.Generation of non-conformance reports to 8D levelConduct and lead root cause analysisCoordinate and trouble shoot welding issues as they may ariseProfileThe Successful Welding Engineer will have the following:Essential SkillsPCN level 2, Senior CSWIP Welding inspector or equivalent welding inspection qualificationSubstantial experience working within an engineering and/or fabrication environmentStrong knowledge of quality management techniques and quality system requirementsFamiliar with working in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentExperience and knowledge of relevant welding processesA comprehensive understanding of Engineering Drawing Practice with the ability to recognise datum structures, interpret and apply appropriate GD&T as well as identify key characteristics.Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access and other software as requiredBe able to co-operate with, and communicate findings effectively and clearly to, the key stakeholders within the Manufacturing, Purchasing and Operational team(s).Safety conscious and confident to work autonomously when required.Willing to collaborate in development of procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of the business.Report writing.Desirable SkillsProblem solvingAbility to work alone without supervisionFlexible approach to working requirementsWorking with and experience of Quality Management Systems based on ISO9001Good communication skillsWelding Engineer IWE qualification preferred or IWT qualificationCSWIP Welding Quality Control CoordinatorJob OfferSalary: £40k - £50k dependant on experience
