Senior Dealership AccountantThis an exciting opportunity for a senior accountant to join a growing accounts team with a top 10 UK Automotive Employer that is still growing and winning many awards.The individual will play an important role in supporting the delivery of a first-class finance function, and in return will receive a healthy basic of £53,000 plus an achievable bonus of £3,000pa paid quarterly.Key Responsibilities:To prepare monthly management accounts, annual year end trial balances and annual business plans for all designated branches, within the published timetable. To establish procedures and maintain staffing levels that ensure that accounting control is maintained,working capital is kept to a minimum and the Groups benchmarks are achieved. To safeguard the Groups assets.Operating ControlsEnsure the accurate and timely completion of administration processes, complying at all times with Group Accounting Policy, UK GAAP and regulations laid down by HMRC and other regulatory bodies.Franchising ControlsFor allocated franchises, ensure that reporting is timely and consistent across the Group, in accord with Manufacturer standards.Planning & OrganisingPlan ahead and manage time carefully to ensure all tasks are achieved. Ensure expenditure is monitored and kept within budgetary parameters.Policies and PracticesStrive to achieve a consistently high standard of reporting by following all published operating/accounting policies. Ensure all employment, environmental, Health & Safety, HMRC policies and practices and statutory legislation are strictly adhered to.People ManagementIn conjunction with the Group Financial Controller & IT Director, ensure the systematic recruitment, induction, and performance management of all department employees and aim to minimise staff turnover by leading a motivated, productive and rewarded team.Coach and develop the job-related skills of the team through regular and measured training activities. Seek expert advice on all employment issues to ensure compliance with employment law.CommunicationBrief the team regarding department objectives and give regular feedback on achievements. Develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers, colleagues, suppliers and external representatives.Personal CriteriaRemain professional, calm and positive at all times. Ensure personal appearance is consistent of a high standard. Assesses own performance and effectiveness and undertake personal development activities.
