Job Description

We are urgently seeking an experienced and skilled Pollution Environmental Health Officer to undertake a broad range of environmental health duties in Pollution Control for one of our local government clients based in Bolton.The Environmental Health Officer will manage the investigation and assessment of pollution related complaints/requests( for example noise; light and odour); for service of appropriate notices and the enforcement of relevant legislation. They will conduct the assessment of the pollution implications of planning applications and other development proposals and the provision of appropriate input,They will be responsible for air quality management ;monitoring and supporting the delivery of the air quality action plan, Manage contaminated land and environmental information work, and assist with permitted process applications; inspections and data analysisIdeal candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Diploma or degree in Environmental Health and be registered as an EHO with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board.
  • Demonstrable ability to use acoustic monitoring equipment.
  • MINIMUM of at least 2 years’ experience of working within the pollution control field.
  • Good all round knowledge (including legislation and formal guidance) in pollution control and the ability to effectively apply that knowledge.
