Job Description

A chemical manufacturer based in the Lancashire area are currently looking to recruit a Junior Formulation Chemist to their expanding site.With current expansion happening now, the laboratory manager is looking for a junior chemist with experience of either household or hygiene chemicals, or cosmetics or personal care formulation experience, to work within a small but busy team.Key responsibilities:

  • Formulating a wide variety of personal care, baby and household wet wipe formulations under the supervision of the laboratory manager.
  • Following Standard Operating procedures.
  • Carrying out stability and compatibility testing.
  • QC of incoming raw materials.
  • Completing batch manufacturing records and other related documentation.
  • Interaction with raw material suppliers and test houses.
    • Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • A degree in chemistry or related subject, is desirable but not essential.
  • An understanding of COSHH and knowledge of a working laboratory is a must.
  • You must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to the fast-moving small company mentality.
  • Have good interpersonal skills to build good working relationships with the laboratory and production teams.
  • Experience in one or all of the following would be an advantage RSPO accreditation, GMP ISO22715, Cosmetic Regulations, Biocidal product regulations and detergent regulations.
