Job Description

IT Helpdesk 1st Line Support Engineer, Salary £23k with career progression and skill development opportunities, Location: Horwich, Bolton. We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Helpdesk / 1st Line Support Engineer to join a growing Managed Service IT Support provider. This is a fast-paced environment, working within a great team and for a company who care about their people. We are keento hear from candidates with experience in a similar IT Helpdesk / 1st Line Support Engineer role, preferably from a manged service provider background.IT Helpdesk / 1st Line Support Engineer- The role:

  • Respond to email and phone support requests to maintain the operation of the customers computer systems to an agreed level
  • Providing remote 1st line technical support across our customer base via phone or email
  • Be responsible for both reactive and proactive maintenance activities
  • Contribute to IT projects when required
  • Follow agreed processes and procedures for the support team
  • Maintenance of all IT service documentation
Candidate requirements:
  • Experience in a similar IT Helpdesk / 1st Line Support Engineer role, preferably working for an Managed Service Provider.
  • Be able to remain calm under pressure, with logical problem-solving skills and the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Be driven to learn new tech and self-improve
  • Understanding of ITIL best practice
Candidate Technical knowledge requirements:
  • Service Management tools for ticket handling
  • Experience of remote access tools
  • Desktop OS, Windows 7/8/10/11
  • Microsoft Application Support (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Microsoft Azure
  • Active Directory / Exchange
  • Advanced understanding of computer hardware and business applications
  • Advanced experience in clean workstation installations (tidy cable management for end-user devices, such as computers, monitors, printers, etc)
  • Good understanding of network
