Job Description

We are urgently seeking an experienced and skilled Information Governance Team Lead to be responsible for information governance and embedding best practice across the organisation, ensuring that the organisation meets its statutory obligationsrelating to Information Management, Data Protection, Freedom of Information, Environmental Information, Information Security, Records Management and the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act. for one of our local government clients based in Bolton.The Information Governance Team Lead will primarily provide high quality expert information management advice, relating to information governance, information security, data protection and freedom of information and significant support to large-scaleand complex programmes and information sharing arrangements across public service delivery.Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Experience of and/or qualification in information management or information rights
  • Advanced theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of relevant information governance legislation and good practice.
  • Detailed understanding of the principles of information management including: Information life cycles Content management of all media types (paper, electronic documents, images, video, pictures) Information management standards, including taxonomies and metadata RIPA Records management Risk analysis
  • Experience of dealing with appeals procedures and with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), for example drafting internal reviews.
  • Ability to research and interpret legislation and ICO decisions relating to information governance in order to brief other staff of changes.
  • Ability to use IT applications to support the delivery of information governance e.g. records management.
