The role has come about as the team is growing. You will be responsible for the provision of legal advice and support across a range of areas, including housing/tenancy management, contracts, procurement, disrepair, land disputes and acquisition, advocatingat court, preparing cases for legal action.Client DetailsMy client are own, manage, and maintain more than 18,000 homes across the area. They invest to improve the quality of their properties for tenants and are building new homes to give as many people as we can the opportunity to live in a quality, affordablehome.They go above and beyond and tackle poverty with debt and money advice. Also providing food and clothes initiatives and help people keep warm for less. Supporting tenants and residents into training and employment, and deal with antisocial behaviour.Description- Supervision of 4 members of staff and making decisions on the progression of allocated cases- Provide legal advice to Bolton at Home on all aspects of housing and housing related activity including anti-social behaviour and disrepair- Draw up court papers and contracts advising on all legal documentation, including liaison with the local County Courts- Deal with property disputes, easements trespass and drafting of licenses- Deal with Right to Buys/Acquires- Act on instruction, liaise and negotiate with stakeholders, partners and others on behalf of Bolton at Home- Work within the Court system to ensure the outcomes required by Bolton at Home are achieved- Advocate on behalf of Bolton at Home in contested and non contested hearings- Work evenings attending residents meetings and out of hours visits with clients, and be available Saturday mornings to attend Court for breaches of InjunctionsProfile- Must be either CILEX, Solicitor or Barrister with at least 2 years experience- Detailed knowledge and skills across a diverse range of civil litigation cases within the housing sector- Able to interpret new and existing legislation and provide clear and detailed explanations and advice on specialised and complex matters- Show understanding of a wide range of Housing and Housing related law, and an awareness of the housing context and its challenges- Able to deal tactfully and diplomatically with difficult issues in a variety of formal and informal situations- Be able to negotiate with partners and others to achieve the best outcomes for Bolton at Home, its services and its customers- Able to work to and manage deadlines in an area where priorities are subject to change- Demonstrate the capacity to make formal presentations/present in court in a way that effectively represents Bolton at Home and its interestsJob Offer- Flexible working- Competitive salary- Staff volunteering- Annual full time holiday entitlement 27 days rising to 32 days plus bank holidays- Health and wellbeing
