A Local Authority based in Greater Manchester is looking for an Environmental Health Officer to join their pollution team.This is a full time, temporary position and the successful candidate must have experience with pollution and ideally have extensive experience in a similar role. The purpose of the role is to undertake effectively and efficiently the delivery of a broad range of environmental health duties in order to maintain, improve and promote living, working and trading conditions throughout the Borough.The main responsibilities of the role are: The investigation and assessment of pollution related complaints/requests( for example noise; light and odour); for service of appropriate notices and the enforcement of relevant legislation.The assessment of the pollution implications of planning applications and other development proposals and the provision of appropriate input.Air quality management ;monitoring and supporting the delivery of the air quality action plan.Contaminated land and environmental information work.Assisting with permitted process applications; inspections and data analysis.The ideal candidate will hold: Diploma or degree in Environmental Health and be registered as an EHO with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board.The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between £19 and £21 p/hour Umbrella Ltd (approx. £490/£530 p/week NET after deductions) dependant on experience and qualifications.
