Senior Cyber Security Analyst – Blackburn – Hybrid Working – GBP50kAre you a seasoned Cyber Security Analyst with a passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where you can make a real impact If so, I have an exciting opportunity for you!Company Overview:Im working with a rapidly growing company based in Blackburn, and Im on the lookout for a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join their team. This opening arises from an internal promotion, and there are plans to expand the team over the next year.Job Role:As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, youll play a pivotal role in their organization. You will not only be responsible for enhancing their cyber defense capabilities but also act as a mentor to a junior analyst, fostering their growth and knowledge development.Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on incident detection and analysis techniques.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical escalation for a junior security analyst.
  • Bridge knowledge gaps, especially in Threat Intel, within the team.
  • Utilize your expertise in SIEM, SOAR, and EDR tools (particularly MS Sentinel, Defender for Endpoint, email security, ServiceNow, any SOAR platform).
  • Apply your skills in SQL and KQL language.
  • Conduct intrusion analysis, network and security investigations using various security tools (EDR, DLP, AV, Snort, Wireshark, TCPdump, etc.).
  • Leverage your working knowledge of core security and infrastructure technologies (e.g., firewall logs, network security tools, malware detonation devices, proxies, IPS/IDS).
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Ideally, possess an educational qualification in a cyber discipline OR hold an industry technical qualification (e.g., Microsoft Security Operations Analyst SC–200).
  • A strong technical background and extensive experience in the field.
  • Passion for staying up–to–date with the latest cyber security trends and technologies.
  • Strong problem–solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
