Job Description

Quality EngineerA Blackburn based Engineering firm seeks an experienced Quality Engineer.This progressive and fast-growing engineering business is involved in the design, manufacture, and supply of industrial machinery to companies around the world.Due to excellent growth performances and an extensive order book, this company are expanding their Quality Department with the appointment of new Quality Engineer.This is an office-based role with some travel to third party manufacturing sites.Typical duties will include:

  • Manage, maintain and update Quality documentation and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality, Environment and Machinery Safety legislations.
  • Assess opportunities to improve product quality and reduced manufacturing costs.
  • Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
  • Work with customers, sub-contractors and third-party suppliers on Non-Conformance issues.
  • Introduce improved methods of quality inspection and procedures.
  • Support calibration and pre-delivery inspection activities.
To be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Previous Quality Engineering experience within a relevant engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Good use and knowledge of Problem-Solving Techniques.
  • Ability to interpret and read technical engineering drawings.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes and welding symbols.
  • Familiar with recognised quality management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001
