Job Description

Resourery Group are working with a business services provider to bring on board a Management Accountant ASAP. This is a Temp-to-Perm opportunity for the right candidate. The company offer hybrid working 2-3 days in the office with the option to WFH for theremainer.The Management Accountants role:

  • To deliver and support timely and accurate monthly management information to relevant internal and external stakeholders. To ensure yourself and the team maintain and develop strong relationships with the Operational Teams, the Finance Team, and the widerGroup teams. Along with having strong relationships with the Finance Management Team you will support, where relevant, the wider Management team to promote and influence the strategic direction of the business. You will provide an efficient and effective accountancyservice for the business.
  • To promote the use of efficient systems and develop new ways of working to support the wider group. Support the Operations teams key decision-making process and influence future planning and business direction.
How this role will deliver success
  • The role will include the production of accurate and timely management information to stakeholders,so they are well-informed with timely financial information in relation to operations. This will be done by creating, developing, and improving existing managementinformation for the business to support improving the understanding of non-financial managers and the key performance indicators effecting their business.
  • The Management Accountant will work closely with the Operations teamto help them mprove their understanding of the financial impact of decisions. Assisting them to make informed decisions that impact the financial performance of the business and the widerGroup. The role will support the delivery of effective Business Partnering within the team, supporting the relevant areas of the business, this is to ensure financial input into planning and execution of projects is completed.
  • The role will produce and support setting realistic and challenging budgets with detailed information that allows for successful budget monitoring and reporting so that the business performs as per agreed expectations. While developing and improving existingoperational finance systems and processes. This will be done by ensuring they are efficient, effective, and fit for purpose for the users and your customers.
  • The Management Accountant is responsible for the production of relevant Balance Sheets. Ensuring adequate financial controls are in place and that all balance sheet account reconciliations are carried out in a timely manner with discrepancies being investigatedand resolved you will give accurate information to all stakeholders, and we are operating within Group and legal requirements.
  • Youwill deliver and support on compliance against all regulatory and legislative requirements including delivery of annual statutory accounts. This will include building solidrelationships with our internal and external auditors to deliver strong internalcontrols ensuring the accuracy of our financial information.
  • The Management Accountant will ensurea value for money culture is embedded and contributes to the strength of the Group. They will also support the Finance Manager in the delivery of effective management of long-term projects, you will ensure that projectsdeliver on time and within budget and any variation to this is understood by the relevant managers.
What you need to be successful in this role
  • Understanding of accounting concepts such as accruals, prepayments, statement of comprehensive income, statement of financial position and cashflows.
  • Working knowledge of transactional accounting and complex accounting concepts.
  • Understand and have knowledge of the process in the production of statutory accounts (desirable).
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work to meet conflicting deadlines.
  • An ability to analyse and explain complex financial information in a clear way at all levels both in report format, presentations and verbally.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts.
  • The ability to use IT in a financial environment, in particular; Word, PowerPoint and the ability to use and develop Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, at all levels.
  • Team working skills.
