Job Description

Java Developer - Lead - £75,000Blackburn based, some remote/home working available (suitable for Manchester, Leeds, Birmginham, Sheffield, Newcastle)We are a well-known B2C, e-commerce retail business with a +£1billion turnover going through a total modernisation of our technological estate. We are looking for a Lead Java Developer with demonstrable experience leading enterprise-scale digital transformation/change projects. This includes driving Agile working practices and proper engineering processes.Its a big operation, which we are taking the time to do correctly - NOT an overnight fix. This means that it will suit a Lead Java Developer who is motivated by enacting visible change and who likes a challenge - there are loads of quick wins to be had on the improvement side, and even more to be had in the long run as we implement more modern technologies.The successful Back End Java Developer will have:

  • Advanced technical Java skills (ideally a mix between EE and modern Java/microservices)
  • Good understanding of relational databases (SQL, ORM) and experience integrating into ERP or other large back office systems
  • Solid background in working within an Agile-focused, test-driven environment, and demonstrable experience of driving commercially-savvy change
  • Bonus Points for experience developing with Hybris or (preferred) Websphere Commerce
