Job Description

Head of Finance | Local Government | Hybrid WorkingCastlefield Recruitment are partnering with a reputable Local Authority based in the North West, who are looking to identify a Head of Finance to join their progressive team on a permanent basis.The role will report to and work closely with the Director of Finance (Section 151 Officer) and will be responsible for the providing a high providing high quality financial and corporate accounting services, and quality treasury management.Responsibilities include;

  • Working with Councils, to develop and deliver Medium Term Financial Strategies
  • Play a key role in developing and delivering the Councils transformation programme
  • Leading on the delivery of the closure of accounts and production of statutory accounts
  • Responsibility for the delivery of relevant and timely advice and guidance to Members, the Senior Management Team, Directors, Heads of Service and Budget Holders
  • Development and leadership of Finance team
  • Deputising for the Director of Finance when required, including attending Council Committee meeting, Joint Committee meetings, and Member meetings
The successful candidate;
  • CCAB/CIMA qualified Finance professional with significant post qualification experience and evidence of continuing personal development
  • Significant experience of managing relevant teams/areas with demonstrable success
  • Experience of delivering the closure of accounts and the production of statutory accounts
