Role: Group Technical Accounting ManagerLocation: Blackburn, BB1 2FA - Office BasedContract: Full-Time Hours / PermanentSalary: £60,000+ (circa)About the role…We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Technical Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. This role will be key in supporting the Technical Accounting function within Group finance.You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards, researching and interpreting complex accounting issues as well as implementing accounting policies and procedures and providing guidance on technical accounting matters.There will also be an ongoing requirement in evaluating routine and non-routine transactions, inclusive of the need to research, document and communicate the accounting implications of such transactions to finance and non-finance stakeholders.The successful candidate will be a results-driven professional, with a strong technical accounting background and a passion for accuracy and compliance. We are looking for an experienced finance professional with strong technical accounting skills who islooking for a permanent position within a well-established and successful organisation.Duties & Responsibilities:

• Play an integral role in the development and roll out of the Group accounting policy manual.
• Research and interpret complex accounting issues, including the provision of technical guidance on accounting matters, which will include but is not limited to revenue recognition, business combinations and financial instruments.
• Work closely with the Head of Technical Accounting and Compliance in the preparation of technical accounting memos delivering accounting positions, conclusions, and recommendations on behalf of the Group.
• Monitor and analyse changes in accounting standards and regulations, review their impact on the organisation, and communicate the implications to relevant stakeholders.
• Support the external audit process by providing technical accounting expertise, assisting with audit inquiries, and preparing supporting documentation as required.
• Provide training and guidance to finance and operational teams on technical accounting matters, ensuring understanding and adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives, including system implementations, process improvements, and ad hoc financial analysis, as needed.

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• IFRS experience across a range of accounting topics. Including, but not limited to; IAS36, IFRS 3 and IFRS 9.
• Audit background, including experience as audit lead on high profile engagements (retail preferred but not essential).
• Strong technical accounting ability and attention to detail.
• Previous industry experience in a Group business is preferable.
