Job Description

Dual role Security Cleaning/Customer Care OfficerBlackburn (BB1 5AF)£8.73 - £9.80 per hourCordant Security are currently looking for a Security and Cleaning Customer care Officer to be based in the Blackburn (BB1 5AF) area. For this role you will need to be required to cover a mixture of Security and Cleaning duties. Interested candidates must have a valid, frontline Door Supervisor license.Responsibilities of the Security and Cleaning Customer Care Officer:

  • To carry out patrols of the public malls, landlords common areas and service roads and car park
  • To enforce the Regulations and Management Policies of The Mall and to deal with all minor breaches, e.g. street traders, buskers, pavement artists, cyclists, skateboards, encroachment, parking, undesirables, vagrants and persons making a nuisance of themselves
  • To man the control room as directed, monitoring CCTV, fire system, and energy management system
  • To control the issue and receipt of all keys
  • To lock and unlock gates, doors and lifts as required
  • To advise the security manager of any security requirement which comes to their attention
  • To maintain the security notebook and security log accurately, and in a neat and legible state
  • To ensure, on completion of shift, that all keys are accounted for, all logs and reports completed, and all radios are on charge for the commencement of the following shift
  • To report any radio, CCTV or other mechanical or electrical faults or discrepancies to the Security Manager as soon as they occur
  • To proactively support a clean and tidy environment
  • To pick up general litter and empty bins on the Mall and back of house while patrolling the centre, also to litter pick and empty bins when required on the car park
  • To deal with wet spillages on the Mall using the special kits provided.
  • To assist the cleaning team with keeping the centre tidy and clean.
  • To ensure that you have read and understood the Assignment Instructions / Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments.
  • To maintain all statutory records required for housekeeping matters
  • To give all possible assistance in the event of an emergency situation arising in their Mall
  • To liaise with the fire services, in the event of a evacuation and conduct a roll call of all staff and contractors on site.
  • To ensure that you arrive and leave on time and have signed the log book
  • To ensure the issue of all keys and equipment is all documented and signed for
  • To ensure the appropriate use of any mechanical equipment which may be provided
  • To ensure all audits are carried out in accordance to the contract.
  • To ensure a clean uniform & PPEis worn and kept to the highest professional standard..
  • To review and monitor procedures that would drive the success of the contracts.
  • To maintain standards at a level required by the Mall and Cordant.
  • Any additional tasks for and on behalf of the Client.
  • To make sure all stock rooms and machine rooms are kept tidy, and stock control procedures are correct.
    • Requirements of the Security Bench Officer:Fully comprehensive 5 year work/education historyCCTV license is desirableClear communication & administration skillsExcellent customer service skillsMust have a flexible approach to shift patterns, operational procedures & staff cover requirementsIncentives for the Security Bench Officer:Covering an average of 40 hours per week across various shifts. Covering a mixture of days, nights and weekends. Typically covering 10 -12 hour shifts.
