Job Description

Back End Java Developer - EE / J2EE - £65,000 - £75,000 (HOME WORKING AVAILABLE)Key Skills: Enterprise Java, Websphere Commerce / Hybris / e-commerceWe are an e-commerce retail business with a +£1billion turnover currently going through an end-to-end moderernisation of our technological estate. We are looking for a back end java developer with some solid web-based enterprise Java experience or experience of Hybris or Websphere Commerce to help us on our Agile journey, before implementing websphere commerce 9 and a DevOps culture/microservice architecture.Its a big operation, which we are taking the time to do correctly - NOT an overnight fix. This means that it will suit a Back End Java Developer who is motivated by enacting visible change and who likes a challenge - there are loads of quick wins to be had on the improvement side, and even more to be had in the long run as we implement more modern technologies.The successful Back End Java Developer will have:

  • Advanced technical J2EE / EE skills (web-based only) and deep understanding of OO / SOLID principles
  • Good understanding of relational databases (SQL, ORM) and experience integrating into ERP or other large back office systems
  • Experience in writing unit/integration/API tests
  • Bonus Points for experience developing with Websphere Commerce
