About the CompanySierra Homecare is a small, independent, care company providing person-centered, high-quality care and support to our clients in their own homes, in Bishop’s Stortfordand the surrounding areas. We are looking for passionate Care Assistants to join our team. Our small friendly team is highly motivated and valued, and we are now seeking an additional two Care Assistants to join us. Experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided to theright candidates who share our values and really want to make a difference in our clients’ lives.The essence of the role is to provide assistance to our clients, who are mainly elderly and vulnerable, to live their lives, their way, supporting their independence, right of choice, and to remain living safely in their own homes.Why should I apply for this Care Assistant job

What does this Care Assistant job involveHours of Work: 10 - 37.5 hours. Flexible shift patternsPeople each have their own individually tailored Care and Support Plan, which may include any or all of the following:
  • Personal Care. This may involve helping an individual to bathe, wash, dress or assist with oral care or continence care.
  • Help with Daily Living Activities. This may be meal planning and preparation, assisting with the taking of medication, shopping, laundry or light housework.
  • Companionship. This involves building relationships; providing social stimulation and emotional support; supporting clients with their hobbies and interest; accompanying them to community activities, to the GP, dentist or hairdressing appointments.
  • Safeguarding. Identifying the signs of abuse or potential abuse to those at risk by reporting in line with our safeguarding policy and procedures.

  • A car driver/owner for travelling between clients (the majority of our calls are 1 hour plus and no calls less than 30 minutes).
  • Able to commit to flexible working shift patterns of varying duration (i.e 3 hour, 4 hour and 7 hour shifts) between the hours of 8am and 8pm and willing to undertake some weekend work.
