Job Description

Your new roleAs an Assistant Project Manager/Workstream Manager you will be part of a team of 10 within the Designated Funds Division. The Designated Funds Division has been given the responsibility to manage £936 million, to improve the surroundings of the StrategicRoad Network in a way that supports and protects people and the things we value for quality of life, both now and in the future. There are 4 funds, and you will work specifically on the Environment and Wellbeing fund, ensuring that funding applications areon track and managed accordingly. The role will be varied, challenging, and fulfilling as you use your project management skills to report on progress, provide support to colleagues and build strong relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally.You will play a key role in the successful continuation of the funds by ensuring project documentation is maintained and evaluation reports are completed.This role has the flexibility to be based at any of our offices, however travel will be required, as necessary.What youll be leading onManage and assisting applications for funding, recording and reporting on progress Plan and define project and programme steps, scope, establish plans, reviewing milestones and prioritiesDeliver quality analysis and progress reportsBuild and manage relationships with stakeholders and help support the development of the programmeAssist in the timely and efficient management of communications and workflow through the designated fund inboxAssisting with the management of any projects that Designated Funds may deliverManaging risks, actions, issues and decisions at a programme and project level, this includes resolving and escalating as applicableWork collaboratively with other members of the Designated Funds programmeTo be successfulExperience of working as part of a structured programme/project management environmentExperience of providing support and challenge at a senior level to proactively resolve issues and respond to problems using innovative and creative approaches.Ability to work collaboratively, with a range of colleagues, subject matter experts and business partners both in the wider organisation and externally across multiple stakeholders and delivery partnersAbility to analyse and evaluate data from various sources to identify pros and cons and identify risks in order to make well considered decisionsExperience in drafting and presenting reports and briefingsAbility to prioritise to meet tight deadlines and robustly manage a project plan.A bit about usDesignated Funds (DF) is part of the Performance and Change Division in the Safety, Engineering and Standards (SES) Directorate and is an exciting place to work.
