Job Description

Could you be a Wellbeing Coordinator for our client This Students Union is looking for enthusiastic and proactive candidate to help develop and deliver a range of wellbeing campaigns, projects and services.Wellbeing CoordinatorBirmingham B4 7BX£23,487 per annumFull Time, Fixed Term Contract for 22 MonthsOur client is a Students Union led by elected student officers supported by a staff team. It is an independent charity and company that exists to impact positively on the life of students.They are looking for a Wellbeing Coordinator to work closely with the Vice President (Welfare) to develop and deliver a range of wellbeing campaigns, projects and services for students.Experience of working on projects with young people (ages 16-25) and excellent communication skills will be needed to build strong working relationships with student groups and external organisations.As Wellbeing Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Proactively developing and coordinating a calendar of wellbeing projects.
  • Acting as the point of contact and lead support member of the staff team for the elected student Vice President (Welfare).
  • Supporting the coordination of wellbeing campaigns and projects proposed each year by Vice President (Welfare). These projects and campaigns may change year-on-year depending on the area of focus of the Vice President (Welfare).
  • Providing continuity to projects and campaigns when new elected Vice Presidents wish to continue projects and campaigns.
  • Evaluating the impact of wellbeing projects and campaigns.
  • Working closely with wellbeing teams to ensure co-ordination of events and projects.
  • Developing an online hub with web pages and resources to support student wellbeing and health activities based on the NHS 5 steps to Mental Wellbeing.
  • Seeking collaboration and funding from external organisations to support wellbeing projects where appropriate.
  • Creating engaging digital content for various communication channels i.e. social media, website and newsletters (including the promotion of the Advice service).
  • Ensuring the "welfare" sections of the website are kept current and relevant.
  • Developing, delivering and evaluating training programmes for student groups and volunteers.
  • Acting as an Executive Officer buddy to support them during their time in office.
About YouOur client is looking for a creative, proactive individual, committed to the principles and practices of equality and diversity, with a positive, "can-do" positive attitude to challenges.The ideal Welfare Coordinator will:
  • Be educated to A-level or equivalent.
  • Display demonstrable working knowledge of higher education and the wellbeing issues affecting students.
  • Possess a demonstrable commitment to sustainability.
  • Have experience of project management or event organisation (planning, delivery and feedback).
  • Have experience of campaigning or supporting campaigns to create change.
  • Be experienced in working with young people (16-25).
  • Possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Have excellent IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and using social media platforms.
  • Be able to manage working time effectively and prioritising projects appropriately.
  • Take a constructive and co-operative approach to solving problems.
  • Work as part of a team and on their own initiative.
  • Be creative and able to provide engaging material for use of webpages and social media.
  • Have a good working understanding of a representative and democratic environment.
  • Be committed to the principles and practices of equality and diversity.
  • Be able to work in line with data protection legislation.
