Job Title: Web App Developer (React, React Native, Full Stack, JS, PHP) Mid-LevelLocation: BirminghamSalary: £31,000 - £35,000 per annumPosition: Permanent Full-TimeWeb app and mobile app developer (Mid-level): The company is a well-known web app and mobile app development agency based in Birminghams up-and-coming Jewellery Quarter. You will be working on a wide range of medium-sized web app and mobile app projects for a variety of the companys clients across a range of different sectors. The company has a culture of learning, team support, exploring new technologies, frameworks, and ways of working. The company recognises that the right person for this role is a candidate who enjoys working in this way too.Job Role:The company is looking for a Mid-Level Developer to join their team. Youll be working on web app and mobile app projects ranging from innovative start-ups looking to launch market-changing new products, through to established businesses seeking to grow, or make process improvements, by implementing new, digital app-strategies.Most of the projects you will work on will involve programming using React or React Native JavaScript frameworks.The company currently build their back-end mostly using PHP on frameworks such as Laravel & Yii2. The front-end is built using the familiar HTML/CSS/JS stack but on top of a front-end framework, usually React + Redux, Angular, Bootstrap, Semantic, Ant, etc.Mobile app projects are also built on web technologies, usually React Native, and less frequently using Cordova, to allow cross-platform apps to be built and maintained using JavaScript. Projects are version controlled using GIT.To be considered you will need:

  • To be able to demonstrate you are proficient in working within at least one established development framework, either front-end or back-end
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • JavaScript and PHP (or NodeJS) development skills and experience
  • Understand MVC programming principles
  • Experience using software version control, such as GIT or SVN
  • Familiarity creating and/or integrating with JSON REST APIs
    • Though experience using the exact-same technology stack and frameworks is desirable (including React, React Native, Laravel or Yii2), the company understands that other factors better determine your skill level than box-ticking on technology experience. The company is most interested in you being able to prove that you can demonstrate your coding ability and ability to learn the technology stack that they use quickly.For overseas applicants, the company is a Tier 2 Sponsor with an active, unallocated certificate of sponsorship.Your safety is the Companys number one priority. Once employed, you will temporarily work from home until the company decides it is Covid-safe for the team to return to work in its Jewellery Quarter offices. This may require several months of home working.
